Hiya,
Question for the "Max" owners:
Are the engine and hydrostatic systems separated from each other and a driveshaft with universal joints runs from the engine crankshaft to the hydrostatic system, (for example Deere 318, 2305, Kubota BX series) or do they use the larger tractor style setup with shafts in an enclosed housing?(like the Deere 2520 and up, 3000 and up, Kubota B and L series and larger)
I was all set on getting a BX for a lawnmower until I found a parts blowup and saw it uses a drivesahft like a garden tractor. I have dealt with them on garden tractors for years and no longer want to be greasing hard to reach joints or having it blow apart and take out other components while it whips around breaking everything it can.
