Question for Wagtail

I watch u tube videos of huge hoe drills working around singular trees in the middle of thousands of acres , why ?

G'day Mate... it's a common practice to leave widely spaced singular gum trees in paddocks/fields. Even dead ones.

They're for (mostly) predator birds (owls, frogmouths, hawks) to nest & perch IOT keep rodent/pest populations in check.

Wedgetail Eagles prefer more of a forest canopy.

Great to know about leaving a tree or two in a large area. :thumbsup:

Across one of my CRP fields is a large powerline. Three 60ft poles with 2 large crossbeams on each pole. The Redtail Hawks love those poles. They can scan the 40 acre field for lunch without expending any energy!!!
