I've got both a 2520 & X324. I've got about 3/4 acre worth of grass and few 6' wide trails that snake through our property (3acres total). The lawn & trails are isn't perfectly flat and somewhat irregular.

I'm looking for the best tool (other than a hand held rake) to clean up the leaves and possibly do a little dethatching. I mulch, which in Alaska can be interesting in June, and have quite a few trees dropping leaves this time of year.

One thought was the tow behind rake from Edney Distributing. Another idea was getting the JD front broom, either 54" or HD60" I already have the front running gear/hitch for a snow blower.

Recommendations?

I borrow a tow behind lawn lawn "sweeper" to gather leaves, gravel from snow plowing and de-thatching stuffs. It is made by Brinley I believe... I pull it with the ford LGT 145 garden tractor and its around 48 inches in width. It works quite nicely and quickly. It simply sweeps the stuffs into the self contained hopper and when full, tow it to where you want the "mulch" and pull on the rope to lift the hopper and dump. I dont know how smooth your trails are or if they have alder suckers growing up in them. But that seems to be the issue with the sweeper is the more flat the ground is the better it will do. Suckers from brush and trees keep the sweep from sweeping the ground clean due to the fact the suckers are between the sweeper and the debris.
