I have a L6060 that needed some weight added on the rear when I use the grapple or bucket. I wanted something that was also useful so I built oak 2x6 boxes on the top of my box blade big enough to store weights, chains, tools and spare parts. It has been heavy enough so far but it's easy to add more weight. The shooting rest was an add on. it's steady as a rock and can be moved anywhere on my property.

Looks good. Are your tires loaded?

I have an L5740 which is the predecessor to the 6060. Essentially the same except for 3hp. I had my rear tires loaded from day 1, but still encountered situations where the tractor was tippy with a big load in the bucket. A few years ago I added wheel weights in addition to the loaded tires. The difference is remarkable.

Tires are loaded but I live in a forest of oak trees and pick up some heavy logs with the grapple. It has an LA 1055 loader and with no weight on the back the rear wheels don't feel like they have a solid grip. The box blade with weight works good but I intend to add some more to it. Hope you like your Kubota as much as I do. I added a metal diamond plate top after a tree took off part of the plastic one.

That extra weight makes a big difference. I think I have another 600 lbs from the wheel weights.

My 5740 has been excellent. I've had it for 18 years now and not a single problem. Or at least no problem that wasn't self induced. I've broken one or two things, but not the tractor's fault, just mine.

I have a M6040. 1550 pounds of RimGuard in the rear tires and a 1050 pound rear blade on the 3-point.

Off the internet I've printed out two weight charts. One for pine logs - the other for basaltic lava rocks. Gives me a fairly good idea of weight before picking with my grapple.

I over did it with my first tractor and wet sand in the bucket. I do not like that "falling off to the side" situation. Where the rear tires rise up rather than the bucket full of sand.

I can't contribute much as far as the weight. BUT - I would be the last person on earth to disagree considering your cargo.

I built a ballast box out of an old air compressor tank. Used it maybe twice in 8 years. I just end up using the fail mower, box blade, or whatever was on there last. More bulk, but I rarely need the maneuverability. Only once was it an issue. Putting an A/C unit up into the rafters inside a buddies barn. Only had inches to spare clearance wise.

I use this 3pt to SSQA adapter to put my forks on the rear of my L6060. That way, I can pick up any pallet with a bunch of weight on it for ballast.

Since I have all my implements palletized, it also comes in handy for taking a second implement out in the field. Saves a trip back to the barn when doing certain work operations.

Uhmm... May have to get one of those!

It's a lot easier to use if you have a hydraulic top link. You can also put a FEL bucket on the 3pt adapter and scoop up a load of gravel for ballast.

I sometimes do this when moving material around. I can carry a load with a bucket on the FEL, and another with the one on the 3pt. Saves a lot of trips if you're moving material any distance.
