Recommended Tractor for 4.5 acres

i hear you, get comfortable with the dealer first, but IMO if i was comfortable with the dealer and had the ability to haul the tractor, 90 miles if it is good roads is not that much more trouble than a 25 mile drive considering the work involved in connecting the trailer loading and securing the tractor and then have to leave it at the dealer for 3 days before they can look at it etc.

LS has a great lineup and very attractive pricing right now and that is comming from someone who just bought and loves a Mahindra.
Going to look at the MT125 this weekend. The MT225 seems to be a much more capable tractor for only 4 k more…

I have an M4 and MX and often wish I had not sold my BX. But if I had to limit myself to one…it wouldn’t be a BX, B would be as small as I ever go as a single unit I think.
I also have a MC 5400 and a BX 1880. I think a B series for the acreage you have and needs you stated would be the minimum. I also have a zero turn. If I had it to do over again I would have gone with the L2501 and a zero turn.

^^^^
That’s what I have, L2501 and a zero turn for similar acreage.

I got 9.37 acres and have had bigger tractors. I bought a GC1728 Massey. The bigger tractor could pick up 3000 #. The little Massey is rated 600# but I can get the Massey in places the big tractor would not fit. I'm not surpriece

I would get a tractor that is newer to have a Quick change bucket. I can go from a bucket to forks to Grabble. Less that 10 minutes to change. I got a Massey and I would not have a John Deere. The John Deere quick change will only work on John Deere. The John Deere bucket, forks, and gabble cost a lot more.
In my experience for new implements the JD quick attach is not that mush more expensive, most implement manufacturers make both. if you are looking at used I find that i can come across 5 skid steer QAs for every JD version, but the price is close there also. YMMV.

I can understand the need for a smaller tractor but that does not apply for me, the 5145 gets into any place i need it to, but it is a little hard on the grass being so heavy. I just never saw the utility of a FEL rated for less that 2000# but that is just me.

Did you dive Into the MT125 and the MT225E? The MT125 is the best deal I have found with FEL, MMBM and backhoe for 25
I did not look into those other than to dismiss them, i'm a big guy and in the end it came down to an operator station that i thought i could spend all day in comfortably. I was also interested in something over 30HP at a min, Yes I know that a 25hp will do most of what you need, but i tend to buy something and the drive the wheels off then bring out the duct tape to put them back on for another 200k miles, so i wanted to make sure i had more than enough of everything to avoid buying a better tractor later. Also in my research i found out that the good enough MT342 was only 5k cheaper that the more that enough 5145, with 0% financing on the mahindra and 2.99% on the LS the diff was insignificant. i was replacing my hand me down ford 2000 in which the time meter stopped working at 6999.
Anyway the LS IMO is a good brand and has a lot of features built in for a very good price.
The MMBM is not for me and is not an option for the MT342 (as i recall so don't take my word for it), I have a ZTM and a brush hog.
one thing that the MT342 had that i wish was on the 5145 is the rear 3ph adjustment lever and the MT342 has 2 rear remotes standard. I'm not crazy about the turbo engine on the LS but could have lived with it. also LS would not allow me to own the factory service manual which in the end killed it for me. Again not bashing LS these things are important to me but not so much for others.

John deere 9series. Probably go with duals all around. Maybe triples if you mow a lot
What mower for that? Ideally, the OP would want to get the whole 3 acres of grass done in 5 min or less, or 2 passes.

Extra wide to get around trees and under fence lines. 🤣

For sure you would want all tires filled with rimguard too. Those batwing mowers pull hard, and besides, how often does a tractor owner say, "boy, I wish I had less traction!"
