I just bought a 1959 Minneapolis Moline 4 Star tractor that I want to restore. I want to start by removing the Moline FEL model 543. Can I just take it off and install pipe plugs where the 4 FEL hydraulic lines come out of the control box under the seat? On my Jinma, to remove the FEL the hydraulic lines to the joy stick controller must be fitted together otherwise the pump will lock up causing damage to the pump, engine, or both. It seems that the MM is designed differently as everything is internal except for the four lines going to the FEL. Just want to check before doing any damage. Thanks.

If the valves are under the seat, they do not come off with the hoe, like many of our
compact tractors. That means only the work-port hoses go to the hoe itself.
There are 4 of them, and they can and should be capped with hyd caps. If you
have any doubts, the work-port hoses only go to cylinders.

This means that the IN, OUT, and Power Beyond connections to the valve are
internal to the valve or valve block. Those don't get capped.

Good luck.
