Replacement Seats

yellowsocks93,
Is the "x" series seat more comfortable than the stock seat? THe regular model "x" seat is around $100 while the replacement for my 670 is $188. I couldn't find the deluxe model seat listed as a kit, only parts....and from the looks of it that would come to a rather large amount. Could probably mount a Recaro on there for less money.

Northern Tool has second rate seats for a first rate price. Northern buys their seats from a local manufacturer here. They can't even compare to a good seat. Plus, they don't have air suspension and I don't think NT even sells one with a fabric covering. I sure don't want my hot sweaty butt on vinyl.

Actually, NT, across the board is high priced. I get their catalog and compare prices to other internet sites as well as local dealers and most of the time, they are always higher priced. Besides, their quality is questionable.

Hello,

I'm a newbie, but being cheap-minded, when my Ford 1700's original seat bucket finally rusted out, I went to the local Wal-Mart and bought a folding boat seat, with arms, for less than half the price of a replacement bucket from New Holland or TSC.

The boat seat has a heavy plastic base plate, thick padding in bottom and back, and stainless brackets on the back and arms. It even came in blue...... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I just got a basic one in yellow at TSC for $49. They did have one with a higher back and arm rests in yellow also. I think it was $75.00, err maybe it was $135.00 Sorry not to be sure but I wasn't really looking for that style so I don't exactly recall the price. But TSC does carry these...at least you can see it before you buy and measure to make sure it will fit for you. Good luck.

Does anyone know if there is a problem setting up the seat interlock safety switch on one of these replacement seats? Do they have mounting provisions, or do you have to improvise?
