My mail is often delivered after 4pm on Saturdays. I wouldn't care if there were no mail delivery to my home on Saturdays, it could even be an improvement. :)

I would not mind if the Post Office went to a 5 day week (M-F) like most of the rest of the working public.
My Dad put in 33 years with them working 6 days a week.
Also, the guys that transport mail from main hubs to individual P.O.'s drive 7 days a week except for only a couple holidays a year. I did it for several years as a contract driver.

I almost think I could get by with just Saturday delivery and get rid of the other 5 days. Just think how much that would save. There have to be lots of people who want part time work and who would work cheep.

How about Tuesday thru Saturday like the DMV offices? Of cource, if they would outlaw junk mail...they could get by with delivering one or two days a week and cut the country's paper usage by 1/3. :D

Not sure I would want my mail handled by someone whose main qualification is will work cheaply. Once in a while amongst the junk mail, there are important things :)

I could live with once per week delivery maybe. I don't receive any perishable items except for the occassional Christmas food gift and pet meds.

I'd be delighted to have no Saturday delivery..one reason is when I'm out of town for the weekend I don't have to wonder if mail is sitting in the box or even worse our mailman will hang bulky stuff in a plastic bag on the box latch!
I stopped the paper long ago, wasn't any good anyway and they never could get it right holding it when I went out of town.
Talk about a big sign saying no ones home just have papers or mail piling up.
