Restoring & Customizing Hot Wheels, Ramblin Wrecker Tow Truck

I have gotten the bug to restore some of my old toys from my childhood and passing along to my son. Here is one of my favorites that I did a bit of a custom on and now its one of my son's favorites. It's condition before I started is one of me doing a bit of customizing of my own when I was like 10.

I guess does anyone else do this or has anyone else restored or freshened up their old toys for their son/grandson(or daughter)?
