You may receive responses from others who have far more knowledge than I do about this subject, but I believe there are 4 main considerations for a 3 point rotary cutter. The tractor's PTO horsepower, the tractor's 3 point lifting capability, the tractor's actual weight and the tractor's rear wheel tread distance.
The JD 3720 (wonderful tractor by the way) certainly has enough PTO hp at 35, has enough 3 point lift capacity (2200 pounds @ 24 inches behind the link arms), and at close to 3000 pounds, is heavy enough to handle the Rhino's 785 pound (advertised) weight, and at 6 foot, the cutter will extend behond the rear tires for a good cut. I think if I were looking for a cutter for that tractor, I'd buy the same one you did.
