Right time of the year to buy philosophy?

I am looking to purchase a new Mahindra 4110. I cannot purchase until after the first of the year at the soonest. A friend told me to see the dealer in the dead of winter, January or so. He says they will be hungry for a good deal. Then again you see so many promotions in the spring time. What say you who have plowed this road before me?

Lotsa times when the new model hits the lot.. the old models get a little of incentive. Mowing equipment generally works that way too.. also.. when a particular implement's season is over.. they also get some incentives to be moved.

End of the year inventory reduction can be a motivator.. depending on how the dealer handles tangible taxes.. etc..

Lot of it depends on location, too. Seems more winter you have, better deals you can get sometimes.

Location probably does matter. Here the week of winter isn't long enough to get the prices down much.
