Are the foldable ROPS and the fixed ROPs interchangeable? It looks like the ROPS subframe is welded to the tractor and the top portion is held on by four bolts. I would think that it would be a matter of taking out the four bolts and switching. Has anyone done this? I am looking at switching my foldable for a fixed ROPS and would more than likely get the fixed ROPS from the dealer and switch them myself. Thanks.

Interesting, seems most would rather go to a folding. I think they are a bit taller. Someone mentioned they may not do this, ROPS have a serial number and my L2500 does have a serial number on the ROPS. If you had to buy it I bet it would be costly. My L2500 parts manual doesn't show a P/N. Only A, B, C, D

How come you don't want the folding? Just curious.

Check that, found the P/n (32330-48010) but it doesn't come up.

My guess would be that he doesn't want a folding rops because he has to fold it down to get it through the garage door.

The folding rops are taller. If you have a backhoe, you would not want to switch to the shorter rops.

Gusg,

What model of tractor do are you talking about?

I have a B7610 and moved from a fixed to a foldable ROPS, and in order to switch you have to also change the part that goes under the tractor (besides the rear PTO). The tubing is slightly larger on the foldable ROPS vs the fixed.

That applies to the B7610 and B7510 (since they have the same parts number).

Also if you have a Backhoe, Kubota states in the owner's manual (B4672A BH) that you must have at least 40 inches between the top of the ROPS and the operator's seat. The fixed ROPS will only give you about 33 inches, therefore making this setup potentially dangerous. My dealer had to switch the ROPS at his expense because of this on my tractor.

I have a B7510. There are two reasons I want to switch. First is it just barely doesn't fit under the garage door (about 1"). The second is, I have found that it is a pain to get the holes lined up. One of the bolts is almost stripped and I can't get it to go all the way in to put the pin in. I don't intend on ever getting a BH. With 1.25 acres, I will rent a BH if I need one. I can't justify the expense. The dealer hasn't called me back yet to say if he has a fixed ROPS. If the bottom portion needs to be replaced, it sounds like it would have to go back to the dealer. If this is the case (looks like there would be some welding involved) I may re-think switching to a fixed ROPS and have the dealer work with me on my ROPS problem. Thanks for the responses.
