I have a Bush Hog 480 Squealer that I bought as slightly used several years ago (the paint was still really red and the decals were fresh and not peeling). I periodically mow just over a flat acre of wild oats and grasses and in doing so I left the rear wheel height as per purchased. This last winter I added at TNT so before this year's first cutting I attached the 480 and went to a level dirt spot to check the mower's angles. In the past, the mower was set with the front skid plate low and the tail dragger wheel high. I was constantly tuning the 3pt while underway and fighting the leading edge draft height in that configuration, plowing dirt tracks with the forward rails or set too high and just scalping the brush so this year I lowered the drag wheel by two adjustable bolt holes while leaving the top cylinder in the draft/loose position. Where have you been all my life?
