Hey yall. As the title suggests I’m in the market for an open ROPS tractor. Had to sell all our farm and fabrication equipment because of an unexpected move with the Air Force overseas.

We are closing on a property with 10 very overgrown acres and the RX7320 is on my list with a backhoe. Lots of trees to take down, lots of landscape and projects. Lots of work. When we’re done with it we’re going to try buying 10-20 more acres from a neighbor as well.

We’re retiring from active duty in 2.5 years so this will be our last move unless we find a larger farm but I should never have to sell our equipment again.

I know the RX7340 will start hitting dealers in a week but the open station won’t arrive until Christmas time or next year they said and will have a $5-6k premium on them :(.

Was hoping to get feedback from y’all especially if you have the 7320 with the backhoe. Any issues, recommendations, etc. it’s going to be a small fortune so I want to make sure I’m not walking into any issues.

I would have bought the 7320 6 years ago instead of my Kubota L6060 if it would have fit in my shop but as it was even with ROPs folded down it was too tall. So I ended up with Kubota. This new place has much taller shop doors so height won’t be an issue.

I see you haven't had much reply yet. I just answered your question in my thread about my new rotary mower. I have just recently purchased a 2024 Kioti RX7320. So far I love my tractor. What I would suggest is, you will not regret buying the RX7320 if you do choose to do so.

A few notes here. My tractor is a ROPS model with the mechanical shuttle shift. If you can find a dealer with an RX7320 in stock, I think that is where you will get your best deal. I noticed the pictures of my tractor on the dealers website were taken in winter time, so they had it in stock awhile and probably wanted to move it. Also, right now the tractor market, I believe, is down the most for utility size tractors, plus Kioti is introducing a new model. So if you can find a RX7320 in stock you might score a great deal.

Finally, I can't say anything directly about the backhoe option. And as always, your mileage may vary. These are just my thoughts. This forum has been very educational and I hope I can pay it forward. Good luck on whatever you choose.

How far approximately does it stick out past your tires? We are going to have several hundred feet of fence line and a lot of creek to mow along. That is why I’m attracted to the hydraulic offset of the flail.

Our last place our 7’ rotary cutter overhung the tires about 9-10” which wasn’t far enough to get up close to the fence without our neighbors overhanging trees beating up me and my tractor which was frustrating.

I’m kind struggling with the thought of the ironcraft flail being $8500 when I can find others online for a fraction of that but they are all likely made in china where the iron craft are at least assembled in the USA. Not sure how much is actually “made”. But at 1750 lbs it has to be a beefy machine I would think

OK, I can answer this! It sticks out about 6-8 inches to either side. So it will mow wider than the tractor and let you mow up closer to things, but yes, if the branches are low enough you'll be getting into them. That's why this fall/winter I'm going to be tree trimming alot. In your case an offset flail may work best. Also, at the time I purchased my mower, Ironcraft was offering rebates. If that is still ongoing, you may save a little on that flail mower.
