A .410 revolver is not my idea of the ideal defensive weapon and I've never heard of a respected self defense "expert" that recommended them, but if it's your cup of tea at least you can get the top of the line. :D

Taurus already makes something similar. I had somebody show me his last week, complete with laser sight built into the grip.

You couldn't give me one.
I'll stick with a caliber that is proven.

One word, marketing:thumbsup:
Ah, but it also fires a .45 round, as well as slugs. If I'm not mistaken it has to have a rifled barrel to have a barrel that short?

The Taurus was called a "Judge", apparently a lot of judges keep one hidden in their robes.

I realize that.

A laser is an excellent tool to utilize for dry firing practice. You would be amazed at how much your hands can shake, particularly past 25 yards.

Guess the way I figure it is if you don't practice enough at CQC range without a laser, throwing a laser on the weapon isn't going to make up for bad marksmanship. Also figure that in a real life situation with your blood pumping, a little red dot isn't going to make up for practice, practice and more practice.

Only my opinion, and the older I get, the more "old school" I sound:laughing:

Probably .45 Long Colt. The .45 ACP is "rimless" and would need moon clips for cylinder functionality.

Yes, I know. I should have waited to post, but supper was beckoning so I cut it short.

Women get trinkets and jewelry. Men buy tools and guns. In each case some are useful, some hold their value; others we get just 'cause we like them

I agree with you completely about practice.
We really don't have enough crime here (yet) to
worry much about protection. This is why most of my guns are under lock & key. (Although if you show up at midnight and fail to identify yourself when the dog starts barking, the next sound will be VERY unmistakable.)Most guns are bought because they look interesting, not for their functional purpose.

Ever heard the old saying "beware of the man with just 1 gun, because he knows how to use it."?

Exactly. 200 grain hollow points can be deadly at short range.
