I just bought a Seaman Triple Tiller today. It needs some work but the tines turn freely when turning the PTO shaft. The tires are shot, so I removed the rims and tires as well as the bearing assembly's. I did a quick search for the tires but not much luck. they are 6.00 - 9 6ply. This thing had a hand pump to pump the hydraulic cylinder up to raise it and just open the valve to lower it. This part is junk. No handle at all for the pump, and the hose going to the cylinder is missing. I could not get the cylinder to expand but after removing it, it still has oil in it. It has split rims so I had to grind the bolts off to split them. One tire came right off the other is fighting back. Next week I will take the axle bearing off and clean them good and repack the bearings with clean grease. Then I need to find tires. I will check out the tire threads on this sight. As far as the cylinder goes I don't have any idea at this time, but am open to ideas. My tractor does not have rear hookups other than the lines for the back hoe.

6.00-9 are widely available in 10-ply. These are the standard rear Forklift tires of years ago.

Now, you'll need the tires not got be ground packing types like some of the forklift treads are.

example,

Oh, I wasn't sure if the tires are tubeless or need a tube, here's the tubes.

Nice, I found a normal tire to work. :) You may need the tubes as posted prior.

And for that heavy tiller, these tires are highly rated as well.
Top-quality, bias trailer tire has been rigorously tested to ensure that it exceeds Department of Transportation standards. This tire fits 9" x 4-1/2" and 9" x 4" wheels; its maximum load is 1,298 lbs at 60 psi.

So, 6.00-9 or 6.90-9 would fit the rims. The key is going with what's on the tiller as tire height profile might change the depth setting.

Neat old tiller! Can you measure how long the cylinder is retracted? You might be able to replace it with a rachet jack. These are commonly used on rotary cutters, and other applications in place of a hydraulic cylinder.

Or even a Linear 12VDC actuator. ;) or a Harbor Freight 12VDC electric winch.

A few options really.

Thank you gentleman.
I have looked at those tires and my first thought was they are expensive, also they will pack the ground.
The second link is more what was on it. I will be checking with a few local tire shops and maby even equipment dealers.

The link Sportsman posted is what I was thinking about trying. I haven't taken the cylinder apart yet that is on the list for next week. I will need tubes because they are split rims.
I'm thinking about looking for a Hydraulic hand pump if I can get the cylinder to work. Any ideas on a pump?
