Seek pto powered log splitter for JDeere 3005

After years of gathering firewood with hand carts and splitting it with a maul, my wife and I are getting creaky joints. Three wood stoves are our only source of heat other than the thermostat controlled electric heater my wife uses in Winter to keep her pottery shop above freezing. Today I ordered a John Deere 3005 and seek information on hydraulic wood splitters that mount on the 3-point hitch and are powered by the PTO. I found an entry by Mudfarmer, but am looking for discussion of splitters for white spruce and birch, and hope there are some that will split knotty pieces up to 24" long.

Mine is a Rankin, and yup, the first thing I tried was knotty spruce. Lots of it split in the woodshed now.
