Bx24
Hey guys been lurking in this forum for awhile and I've been recently thinking about parting with my Bx. I bought the BX24 2 years ago and I absolutely love the power of such a compact machine. I primarily use the machine to take care of two properties. I have used the machine to plow snow with, pulled up small stumps , done light tree work, move mulch and topsoil. I've had friends and neighbor's ask me to do work for them. I've made a few grand with the machine as well. However with the pros there are some cons. The cons of this particular tractor is the plastic fenders and hood (which isn't really that big of a deal) compared to the ground clearance and weight. The past winter we were pounded on the snow was so deep that the tractor took a beating and got stuck, but it did it's job. Also I figure some of the small job I've could've gotten done in half the time with a bigger tractor. So I've been toying around with the idea selling it and replacing it with a b 2620, 2650 or a 3200. What do you guys think sell it or keep it? I'm torn!

What's wrong with having 2?

Nothing wrong with going bigger if you think you need it. You can't really go wrong with any of the models you mentioned.

A few things to be aware of though. Some B3200s display excessive vibration from the engine. I guess it can be tuned out with some elbow grease. I only looked at one, and it was excessive for sure.

B2620s are nice. B2650s are larger and fancier/more features. Chassis wise I think a B2650 is as big as I would want to go with that horsepower.

After almost 250 hours on my B2920, and I'm very pleased with mine. Mine is setup with the FEL, BH, and loaded tires, and is the go to machine on the farm. I also have the MMM, and the snow plow which also work well. I would have liked to look at more 3200s because I really like the size, but a outstanding deal very lightly used B2920 so I just went that.

Cheers!

I started with a 2008 BX24, bought it 12,500, put $300 of wheel weight (foam filled the tires). Then I outgrew it by adding a bunch of tractoring tasks. I bought a small sawmill and found out that the logs I needed to carry around were about 800 lbs and the BX topped out at 460 lbs. Also I couldn't drive around in the woods much because the 10" front tires cant climb over a log 5" high (in some cases). And I decided I needed an ATV trail across a steep hillside. I used it 160 hours, and sold it for $13,500.

So I bought a 2004 B2710 which is a little bit bigger, and now kinda wish I had an L-series, L3200, L3400. I like the maneuverability of the B-series, but found that the logs I need to lift are a bit too heavy for the B2710, and and and I am now looking at bigger sawmills. But the B2710 is doing fine. To replace the backhoe part I bought a mini excavator, it's good having 2 separate eqpt. I found that carrying the backhoe around reduced my mobility, and leaving the backhoe in the shed reduced the amount of floor space I had, with an immovable object. It was a little backhoe if Id'a thunk to build a dolly for it I might still have it.

Being a BX25 lover from days gone by I traded my B2620 HST FEL BH 73 hours to Barlows and asked their selling price for a friend, Steve Barlow said $18000 or trade. Yes, I got another BX25. Had a BX2350, same model as BX24, and got rid of it in short order due to the abrupt stop in reverse. Kubota stopped production of that series pretty quick due to some issues with it. My neighbor has a BX2350 and is quite satisfied with it.
Trade that BX24 to Barlows for my garage kept 50 hour service done B2620 HST FEL BH that has 73 hours. Save a bundle and get a bigger machine.:D

Yea I forgot to mention the abrupt stop in reverse especially driving in 2nd gear. The only thing with buying from barlows would be the cost of shipping to NY.

Thanks
Guys

Guys

There was a man from NY there yesterday. Just saw him going out the door to hook up a trailer.
Lots of people from New England area buy from Barlows so I'm thinking the shipping isn't that expensive. I know they split shipping between several on the same trip.
