It was night and day with us as well. We bought a camper and it came with WDH that had the break over chains and sway bars. Absolutely hated that set up. It was a pain to hook up. Had to disconnect the sway bars before backing it into a tight spot. And you would get sucked over when a large vehicle passed you. You would clench half the seat if a semi passed you.:eek:

We were looking into up sizing the truck or down sizing the camper when we decided to take a $400 gamble and purchased a Curt WDH with 4 way sway control. I'm a major believer in that set up
I almost bought the Curt. It's a 2 point sway so I was really wanting to find an Equal-Izer 4 point, a Pro Pride or the Arrow. I found this Equal-Izer and beat the guy up on the price, so I went and grabbed it. I can't say how much better the 4 point is since this is my first sway system. But I know that I wanted to lean towards the better systems so that it would be one and done.

Test driving it today.... Freaking amazing.

My curt was a 4 way sway control. Probably the same style as your equalizer. Each manufacturer pretty much offers the same styles of hitches.

Here's a picture of the one I had. It offered 4 way sway control.

Rock Crawler, would a little more drop on the hitch help? From the picture it seems a little high in front.

I'd have to agree. I pulled a 32-footer with my Ram 1500 (before getting the HD 2500). About the same weight (6500 lbs) and no sway at all. Really couldn't tell it was back there unless you looked in the mirrors. The camper in the pic did seem high in the front to me as well. I'd bet money if you lower it a bit that camper will settle right in.

I tried that first. Swapped over to my pintle that allowed it to be level or a degree or 2 low to the front and it really had no noticable effect. But putting the Equal-Izer on yesterday.... Undescribable. I was a skeptic until yesterday, that's why I refused to buy new. I thought that it was possibly placebo. I would still never use it hauling heavy equipment because I've never experienced side push/pull with equipment. I do use the WDH if things are getting up in the 8000+ lb range.

Back in the early days I bought Cummins and Powerstroke trucks and never used WDH connections because the trucks could hide the fact that I was heavy. But since I've relegated myself to half tons, I need to follow the half ton protocol else they don't work so well towing 5 and 6 tons.

But I'm really happy with what I saw yesterday and I'm excited for next week. September 26th I'll be pulling the camper up into the Laurel mountains for the Laurel Highlands Jeep Festival that is the 28th/29th at the Nemacolin's resort.

If your in the area and a jeeper.... Consider being there! I'll be in the big red JK Willys Wheeler.View attachment 62145820190724_061504.jpg

I saw this guy today. And I wasn’t moving when I took the picture View attachment 621137

Guys like this is why I have had to dodge cement blocks, 4x4x8 wood board and various other things on a motorcycle. I have had some close calls, rode with other people that almost saw road hazards too late, really close calls.

That's a huge part of motorcycle riding... keeping yourself in condition orange watching for crap falling from other vehicles that are around you or watching for them to do something stupid like pull out in front of you.

There are two sides to the motorcycle issue.
I never realized how bad the other side of the issue was until I spent 2 years traveling to the Bay Area of Cali.....
It happens in other areas of the contry I have travelled, but nothing to the extreme I have seen on the lefty coast

I have never seen so many idiots riding between cars in traffic, even if traffic was moving 30+ miles per hour.

I am surprised more bikers are not killed making those terribly stupid moves!

To be honest, sometimes I would wonder if I was going to witness one of them get hit on a daily basis
