Hello I'm looking for a short hydraulic top link, the one i currently have is
cat. 1, 2" bore, 8" stroke,,, retracted it is 20" extended it is 28",,,, i've seen a couple that are 18" retracted but dont think will find much shorter than that and have 8" stroke, maybe i don't need 8" stroke but problem i'm having is not getting enough angle with my box blade to use the front blade

FWIW...
On some cylinders (like the inexpensive one from Agri Supply)...when retracted it is 20" but there is about 3.5" of rod exposed...it is rather simple to cut and re-attach the end making the retracted length about 17" and still retain the 8" stroke...

I would think that an 18 1/4"-25 1/4" working length would be good. But I can just as easily build a 17"-23", but that seems like it will be to short on the extended end. when you get down to these shorter working lengths, there just is not much leeway to be able to have what works best in both directions. Extension and retraction.

Look at this link and get me the asked for dimension. I can make a recommendation from there. I thought that it was around 22".

Change the pin adjustment which couples the right and left Lifting Rod stirrups to the right and left Lower Links, from the top pin position to the lower pin position.

The front of the box blade will settle at least 3", probably 4" lower.
Offering different Lower Link lift heights is the function of this pin adjustment.

LOWER HOLE = LOWER IMPLEMENT
HIGHER HOLE = HIGHER IMPLEMENT

This is also the best way to introduce tilt to a Box Blade that does not have T&T from Fit Rite integrated into the Three Point Hitch.

Yeah i may shorten and reweld it but i'll have to check and see which holes i'm using now, i'm at work all day today

One of the problems with these models is the different pin locations can cause problems and can have range of motion limitations.

Sorry for all the pics but here's my set up, i've tried moving tractor end of top link in either hole, current hole is best i believe, i may buy shorter top link and still cut it shorter, just seems like i can't get enough pitch forward, and have way more than i would ever need going back(extending), i started drilling holes in box blade to move diagonal suports back further to create down pitch, but started thinking i shouldn't have to do that20180924_185955.jpeg20180924_185925.jpeg20180924_185901.jpeg20180924_185933.jpeg20180924_190113.jpeg

Photo #4 shows pin in lower hole on left stirrup, top hole on right stirrup. Pinning both sides in lower hole may resolve your problem, coordinating with lengthening screw adjustment in center of right LIFTING ROD after moving right stirrup pin to lower hole.

It's the box blade, not the tractor. Move top hookup back so it is straight up and down with the box blade. You can go back even back past center. The blade looks like it might have the holes there to do just that.

The original "manual" top link is 18" retracted and the hydraulic one is 20" so i'm sure that extra 2" is not helping, i still may try to shorten it
