It was also used in the L3240, but unless you change the gearing for the PTO to let the engine run it at a higher RPM you most likely won't see that much of a power increase.
You'd really have to pull the power graphs for the version of the engine you are changing the timing and fueling to in order to get an idea of output at the 2200rpm rated pto speed of the L2501.
