I just auger into the ground about a foot and disconnect.
I assume by "PD" you mean posthole digger (AKA PhD*)?
I use mine infrequently so I take it apart to store it. I take the auger off and separate the PTO shaft and drivebox from the arch. It's three bolts. Then I have three pieces that I can carry by myself and they all lie flat. I just stack them in the corner of the garage.
(* I like to tell people I have three PhD's. When they ask me what they're in, I tell them the two hand ones are in the tool shed and the 3pt one is in the tractor shed.)

I built this little stand out of salvaged PT, works for me. This PHD is heavy and I don’t want to lie it down when not in use. Much easier on the back this way.

This is what I do except I use a 2" wide chain link fence tube/post across the top...it won't bend/warp with time...BobG in VA
