I would like to have some side and/or rear view mirrors for my B2910, however, the two bicycle types I installed vibrated so badly that I couldn't begin to see what was behind me due to a total blurring of the reflected images. Does anyone know of a source for mirrors that can hold up to heavy vibration, or alternatively, has anyone come up with a DIY version?

I found some mirrors at a place that were marked down time and time again...when I found them they were $3 each...bought four... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

This worked well for me since I built a light duty FOPS for my B2910...perhaps something similar could be done by attaching mirrors to the loader frame where the cross bar is attached.

I forgot to mention that one thing that surprised me, is that although I have really good rear visability with these mirrors, I don't tend to use them that much.

For some odd reason I tend to twist around a look back most of the time. Now if I used the tractor on the road between locations, I am sure I would be using them all the time...

.... man Bill - you got enough ladders in there or what ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This what I did ..... or am in the process of doing ...... bought a pair and put the first one on last fall ... never got around to adding the second on the other side (trying to locate the ideal clamp for the loader cross brace)

Like Bill says, I often forget to use the one I have mounted - but then Ill remember it's there and use it for awhile - usually when I'm doing a repetitive task like loader work where I'm moving back and forth over the same terrain for a good while.

So, have either of you had any issues with excessive vibration blurring the rearward view out of your mirrors? If not, did you get some kind of vibration resistant mirrors?

I had 2 mirrors mounter on the loader crossbar but found that I hardly ever used them. Even though they were convex mirrors I couldn't see the ground with them so I was still turning around to look all the time. Finally took them off.

The mirrors came from Auto Barn and cost $8 each. 5" diameter convex mirrors.

BTW, for mounting brackets I bought a couple of chain link fence brackets at Lowe's. I think the ones I bought were for mounting chain link to gate frames. They were just a tad too large so I wrapped a couple of layers of rubber tape around the crossbar. That tightened them up and kept them from scratching the paint when branches hit them and turned the bracket on the crossbar.
