In a JD 1015 scut is there any harm in strapping the lift arms up while mowing with mowing deck and lift arms in the down position?
The reason is when mowing with deck and arms down, there's a few short steep hills. When I back up the lift arms dig into the ground. If I lift the arms up with draft control it also lifts the deck.

No harm at all.

Thanks, I didn't think it would, but wanted to make sure. Unlike a two stage hydraulic cylinder, the weight of the implement makes the arms go down. And if there already up all the way, it's not going to put any pressure on the strap when raising the deck/draft control.

Could also remove the arms if you don't need them often. Just a few pins. They come off and go back on easily.

I do use them often for ballast using the loader.

One thing I should mention. Is don't fasten them securely up. Many mower attachments require the arms to be let down some degree to allow free travel of the mower deck.
