Anyone install them on their Kubota? Looking for pictures/ideas as I'm taking delivery of a MX5100 at the end of the week and I do a good amount of work in the woods so there are rocks, etc. all over the place. I want to protect the underside of the tractor as much as possible.

Tks.

You could get some expanded metal grating a make your own. I did that with a BX2200. Just weld nuts onto the frame where you want to secure the plate.

The M series sits pretty far off of the ground. Rocks that could get to the underneath structure would be nearly impossible to drive over. A stick or small log run over by the tires may be another story.

The plastic gas tank on my M7040 has a skid plate but my opinion is that anything beyond that is overkill. If there was a need then someone would manufacture one.

The ground clearance on a Kubota MX5100 is as follows: 15.9"-2WD, 15.2"4WD. The final decision to install skid plates is yours, but if you feel the need, go for it. The fact remains that unseen objects may be in the tractor's path, but usually safe driving methods will prevent damage to your tractor's under carriage. Good Luck. Have a Happy Day.:tractor:

Congrats on your tractor it will surprise you with its power and capabilities. Always keep your ROPS up, wear your seatbelt and keep your loads low! it is tippy!

I have a MX5000 and also use the tractor in rocky terrain around Kingston. Lots of loose rock that turns up when you drive over it. I have not had any issues but do have a few scrapes on the underside!

My biggest issue was knocking the front AG tires off the rim and damaging the lug nuts on the front wheels sliding into exposed rocks or plowing snow. What I did was get 2 water cut 3/8 plate steel discs and use them as "hubcaps" and added tubes. No issues since.

If you have a loader and are going to move snow you will need tires filled, but not require chains. PS: Benson Tire has non-calcium based tire fill.
