I'd like to hear from those of you with smaller Kubotas whether you can use your PTO without being on your tractor seat or tricking the seat sensor.

BX2200, if you fold the seat forward, then you can use at least the rear PTO. I've used the PHD this way, standing beside.

If I leave the seat in the normal position and engage the PTO, it will kill the engine.

On the bx-23 you are suppose to turn the seat around.I cram a shingle in it its easier.

I've got a BX1500 and the seat flips forward allowing the PTO to be used when not seated on the tractor. Works great.

On my B7610 I can run the PTO in low speed without being on the seat, but the seat must be tilted forward to make the seat forward limit switch. If I run the PTO in high speed, I must be on the seat.

I use the seatbelt to hold the seat down, that way I don't have to keep flipping the seat each time I move the tractor.

Kubota calls leaning the seat forward to run the PTO the "Stationary PTO", at least on the L4400. Being a tractor newbie I asked the dealer what the "Stationary PTO" was since I had seen it in the brochure. He had no idea what that meant. After learning about it in the owners manual I now know what he didn't know about it; its kind of a silly name for an obvious 'feature' made confusing by the seat saftey switch.

Don't need to trick the sensor on my B7510HST.
The PTO lever has to be in neutral to start the tractor.
You can get off the tractor once it's started and tilt the seat forward to use the PTO in the 540 RPM setting in the "stationary mode", e.g. for work with a post hole digger.
Haven't used the higher RPM so I don't know if this method works at that speed.

I have a BX2200 that doesn't cut out when I leave the seat.
It would be hard to run the chipper.....caution is the name of the game here....the chipper is the only one of my attachments used off the seat.
