Something you want but can’t get or afford.

This is one of those “I wish I had” questions. It could be something, rare, valuable or you just can’t obtain, like the Mona Lisa. It could also be something mundane that you just can’t get anymore.

For me as a land surveyor I’d love to have an original signed Abraham Lincoln boundary survey. At one time my parents lived in Petersburg Illinois which is the area Lincoln surveyed. At that time there were no copy machines so most if not all of his surveys would have been recorded in the courthouse. Any surveys in private hands would be out of my price range. Jefferson and Washington were also surveyors and that would be quite the trifecta to have one from each of them.

By the way Mount Rushmore is misnamed. The correct name is Three Surveyors and Another Guy. Teddy Roosevelt wasn’t ever a surveyor.

Amazing what the resale on them is as well. Very sought after vehicle and Fords made a made a huge blunder when they quit producing them.

Could sell mine for basically what I paid for it new and probably more.

Was Lincoln an accurate surveyor?

Accuracy is a loaded term. I’ve never followed behind any of his work but today we measure to the nearest hundredth of a foot but we’re not quite that accurate. Back in Lincoln’s day if they measured a half mile the best they could do would be a foot.

I'd love a new F250 but can't fathom the payments. I'm debt free except for a few medical bills and could afford it...but damn, I'm sure the payments are high.

Our 2008 f350 will have to suffice for now

I'd love a new to me aluminum body F250 diesel, but my wife can't reach the "oh crap handle". My 2002 F250 dually 7.3L diesel will have to suffice. She can reach the OC handle in that.

The other 280 acres to the north and 400 acres to the south of the original land claims my property is built on.

Or I'd settle for decent fences around all of the existing fields.. man have posts and fence wire gotten expensive.
