You boys must have short arms or set the the seat too far back.

Maybe but I like holding the spinner near the bottom of the steering wheel. Having two spinners, I can achieve this most of the time.

I have two other tractors and one wonders and one doesn't but they both are around twenty years old, just wanted to make sure it wasn't something that needed to be checked while warranty was good. Sounds like it is normal, thanks for the replies.

Normal, typical, no worries.
I bought 3 steering wheel spinners...this way, as they wander around the clock there is always one under my hand...love my spinners!!!!
I had same question some years ago, got same answer.

Perfect time for me to read this post. I recently switched from an L39 to an L45. I never had a spinner on the L39, but I do on the L45. I don't know if the L39 never did this, or if I just never noticed since I didn't have the reference of the spinner. The L45 wanders like crazy. I like my spinner at the 9 o'clock position so I can operate with my left hand on that and my right on the loader with both arms on the arm rests.

Man, I like this forum. Just today, I adjusted the position of my spinner - I thought I'd put it right where I wanted it the first time. Later, as I was using the fel, the darn thing "shifted" position again...Well, it must have worked loose, I thought to myself. Do any of you fellows talk to yourselves around your tractor -I sure do. Funny thing is, I just did the 50 hour service on mine, and checked bolts for correct torque, so I chuckled about the spinner getting loose. Now, I get it. Sheesh.
