Does this forum have a stolen property ongoing (sticky) thread? I think it would be a good idea to have a database with pictures of stuff that people here are missing. Rural crime is going to be getting a lot worse and local law enforcement is about worthless for tracking stuff down.

Because with the border wide open and the impending bursting of the current economic bubble, millions of immigrants (and others) will be jobless. I could site some specific corridors where this will be acute, but I have to go to work for a meeting with the Natl Guard IT guys. There have always been thieves. I don't think percentage wise its any worse now than it was in the past. its just there are more people and more stuff available to steal. .

Yes, of course. But there has not "always been" an internet to provide a perfect database platform to help a person get their property back.

I hate Donald Trump. Don't watch the news either. Real-world observations. Yes the problems of rural theft are worse in Texas and California. Just like employee pilfering is common everywhere. Is it tempting to a guy who is not even on the books as being here to snatch an item from a nearby property where he has been laying pipe for a week? Consider that these laborers believe ALL white Americans are rich. This wasn't meant to be a political thread- just a yes or no question. I think it would be a no-risk tool to not only help recover stolen property, but also identify problem spots.

Any facts to back-up the pipeline theory of theft in central Texas. The pipeline wants to grab more land out here and we need info like this if it can be shown to be factual.

That would be a useful byproduct of this thread. If something comes up missing- whether it's yours or a neighbor's- report it here with location and time/date- regardless of value. Criminals start out small and get bolder. I simply have not found a good database to record stolen items that the county and state rarely take seriously, i.e. implements, tools, lawn equipment, etc.

I think such a thread would be a great community service.
Postings would have to be limited to basic details otherwise some folks would post pages of pics and details that would then render the thread useless.
I think a prepared form would be a suggestion to consider, like fill in the blanks.
