Gave it shot today, and success! But almost out of fuel, first had to lug a 5 gal diesel can thru 100 yds of deep snow -- that was exhausting as the weight of the fuel made me sink deep up to my knees.

Used the BH stabilizers to raise the rear wheel that was dug in and shoved a pallet under it. Then extended the backhoe and dug it deep into the sandy path to get an anchor point for pulling. Then simultaneously used the differential lock and drove backwards while using the BH to pull. Lurched backward but got out of the ditch. Manhood intact. Tomorrow will be a lot of snow moving.

Any suggestions? I'm all ears and eyes! )</font>

Bebster,

Glad you got it out. As far as hooking a chain around the back axle I would not do it. I don't think the axles are designed to do that. Always get the chain around the hitch if you can. I have seen people rip an axle right off the tractor.

I know many have done it without troubles but just a word of caution that is all.

... WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT THURSDAY NIGHT...

A WINTER STORM WATCH CONTINUES FOR CAPE COD AND THE ISLANDS.

ALTHOUGH RAIN IS EXPECTED TONIGHT AND THURSDAY... IT SHOULD CHANGE TO SNOW THURSDAY EVENING AS A STRENGTHENING WINTER STORM PASSES SOUTHEAST OF NANTUCKET AND BRINGS COLDER AIR INTO THE REGION.

SNOW MAY QUICKLY BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES THURSDAY NIGHT... BEFORE TAPERING OFF EARLY FRIDAY. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 7 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE... WITH THE HIGHER AMOUNTS ON THE UPPER CAPE.

THERE IS STILL UNCERTAINTY AS TO WHEN THE RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW... WHICH WILL HAVE AN IMPACT ON TOTAL SNOWFALL ON THE CAPE AND ISLANDS. IT IS STILL POSSIBLE THAT THE CHANGEOVER MAY OCCUR AT THE TAIL END OF THE STORM... WHICH WOULD LIMIT TOTAL SNOWFALL TO LESS THAN 6 INCHES....
