10 year, 2,000 hour warranty.
Dealer. It’s the local Caterpillar dealer.
Snowblower performance.
SSQA loader.
Seating position.
Fender mounted joystick.
Price.
All fluids and filters for 1st service (except motor oil) thrown in for free.

Reason why I considered something else:
No R14T/Versa Turf tire option.

I'm with Ray, having an older 2310.

Same reasons, pretty much (I looked at them all, back in 2007) -- Closest competitor was the Kubota BX series, but the MF tractor was a bit larger, a tad heavier, the BH definitely heavier, but perhaps the biggest reason was that the 2310's engine was slightly bigger: 1100 cc vs. 900cc for the Kubota. That meant lower RPM for the same power, in my book. My brother had a BX, and to get the rated HP it had to be kept at a fairly high RPM essentially all the time, but not my 2310. I get fine performance at a modest 1800 RPM, and there's more if I need it.

My dealer also crashed a few years after I bought mine, but I've not had a lot of problems that I couldn't either fix myself or have a local tractor tech fix, so the dealer wasn't a biggie for me.

friend had a gc2300 he used hard, no issues from 2004-2007. airline closed base so didn't get to see anything on it after that.
I have a few hundred hours on a GC1710 (as well as a MF1532 but thats not SCUT) with no issues NOT caused by us.
when I looked earlier this year most dealers in Maine had ZERO used scuts in stock.
then suddenly the MF dealer I drive by a lot had a gc2400 with fel and mmm in it. so I ran in got a price with replacing the older non drive over mmm with a drive over (they gave me the 2500$ mmm for 1500)fille dout the paperwork 3 days later picked it up.
get weird looks driving down the road at 70mph with a 2010 mercury marquis hauling a 7x14 trailer with a gc2400 with FEL and MMM in it LOL

When I was researching purchasing a subcompact tractor I investigated LS, Mahindra, John Deere, Yanmar , Kioti, Kubota and Massey. I had my list narrowed to these brands in order:
1) Kioti
2) Kubota
3) Massey-Furguson

All of them had the reliability and offered the attachments I was looking for (not necessarily in stock), which was a mid mount mower and a front snow blower. Dealer support was also important, as was the price. I chose Massey in part because the dealership is fairly close to me and has a good reputation. Availability of the tractor was the deciding factor as subcompacts were in short supply in my area and my dealership had one GC1723 in stock with both attachments. According to the salesman, there were/are no GC1723's scheduled for delivery until March of 2021.

I was wondering why other Massey subcompact owners chose the GC series over other brands?

I also looked at all the same brands you did plus one more, the RK models - I just can稚 get past their FEL control lever. It just looks like an after thought. I had the Kioti as my first choice but the dealer refused to put a SSQA on the FEL and really didn稚 know anything about a third function. Was heading to a Deere dealer where they had kubotas as well. The Deere dealer was like the Deere brand sells itself and no one questions it. Well I did. Kubotas were almost the same price as the Deeres. On the way there passed a Massey Ferguson dealer by accident and didn稚 even know they were even around here, unfortunately they had just closed when we went back. Went on line and one of those pop up chat window came up and I started talking to a Massey rep. They said my questions were to technical that they couldn稚 answer them all but asked if someone else could call me back. Sure the next day a really nice guy called me who was the district manager in my area. He answered all my questions and then some, made a time that we could meet and test drive a Massey. It was great, fit me perfect and we had a good rapport. Made the deal and bought it that day. Got some good discounts on it and they gave me the survival package too. If you don稚 know what that is it was a special they were running when this COVID virus came out. Basically they gave me another thousand dollars in free Massey Ferguson gifts. Cooler, apple tablet keyboard and pen plus $250 in gift cards and Massey Ferguson gloves, Bluetooth speaker. Got a free CAT toy skid steer and a few other things but can稚 remember right now. Everything has the Massey Ferguson logo on it except the tablet, it has an apple. I also was able to get the 10 year 2000 hour warranty

When I bought the 1710 in 14’ it was the best price. Looked at Deere and Bota.

When I got the 19’ 1723, I didn’t bother looking elsewhere.

Last year I looked at the Deere, Kabota and Massey. Those were the dealers responsibly close to me. The Deere price was just not anywhere competitive. I just felt more comfortable with the Massey and the dealership. All the sheep around me have green tractors and I generally don't follow the "jones' ". Bought GC1725MTLB i don't have a ton of hours on it but have been happy with it. These sub compacts can do a lot of work.

If money didnt matter I would have gone with a Kubota most likely. Since it does I felt like Massey was a good deal. My dealer is about an hour away but i can pretty much take care most of anything the tractor may need. Price was good and its a Massey so the history is there just as all the other majors.

Side note for all that are getting into these little tractors. Its beneficial to either mod up a skid plate or buy one. Ur hydraulic filter is underneath and is vulnerable. Ive seen a few threads where guys have damaged the filter and then crapped out the tractor and the dealer won't warranty the tractor. Which isn't surprising.
