Yanmar sx3100
I can get the yanmar tranny fluid, dealer does not use it they just use the case fluid instead. Since the John Deere 2720 is same as sx3100 could I just use the JD fluid?

I don't see why not, JD doesn't make fluid so why pay for the name. Just stop by napa and buy the good tranny/hydro fluid that meets specs and you'll be good. Most all Tranny/Hydro fluid found at parts store or tractor supply will meet specs in reality. The stuff i think you are running now as i am is red and is actually much lower speced compared to anything you'll find now.

Yes, I've attached a pic of the Yanmar TF500 fluid, as you can see its interchangeable with John Deere J20A, so theoretically anything J20A and above should work.

My dealer was frustrated with the steel Yanmar buckets getting dented during shipping and stopped ordering it, so for my second fluid change they sold me AGCO Permatran 821XL fluid, they had that on hand since they are also a Massey dealer.

I have no complaints with the Yanmar fluid tho, it seems to work fine in low temperatures, and I like the red color for reading the level on the dipstick.

Question about transmission fluid change. I just changed mine tonight because I crossed over the 300 hour mark. The dealer was the one that performed the 50 hour service. I found and cleaned the magnets in the strainer by the rear of the tractor. But when I changed the filter there was no magnets inside the old one to clean and put inside the new one? The manual says there should be? Did my dealer just throw them out when he changed the filter the 1st time? And if so is it bad that it went over 250 hours without them? I'll try and call the dealer tomorrow too.

I think your right your dealer probably just unscrewed the filter and chucked it. If I had to guess your dealer never even looked inside and had no clue that the filter holds magnets. You still did have the magnets in your screen to help pick up metal chips. To me it would be better to have the magnets in but did you hurt anything by them being removed? I would think not. Most people dealers and DIY would never even look inside but thanks to TBN I was ahead of the game and knew what to look for. What fluid did you end up putting in?

Ya I am sure that's what happened. I would like to think a dealer would know better but they probably have some kid making 10 an hour changing fluids out. It clearly states in the manual about the magnets.
I used the Kubota super UDT2 fluid.

When I did my 50 hr. fluid swap and filter change on my 424 I didn't look for a magnet on any of the filters. Do the 424's have them? If so, they're in the landfill

I do not know if they have them? My manual for my sx3100 shows them in the scheduled service section. Maybe check your manual for the fluid change procedure?
