I just bought this t650 at an auction. Had a water in fuel code set. Should be an easy fix right?
I tried opening the drain on the filter. NO water seen and still had the water in fuel sensor code set. Still had the error code so I bought a new filter and put it on. Code never cleared. Still have the same code with NO water in the fuel and a brand new filter.
Is the sensor just a normally open or a normally closed switch that trips when it floats something and makes contact? I’m trying to trouble shoot the system since it apparently is NOT water in the system. Didn’t know if that is a switch the closes a circuit to set the code or a switch the goes open to set the code. Can I temporarily put a jumper wire across the 2 posts and see if the light goes out?
Any other things I need to try to get this code to clear. I assume when I fix the problem the code will clear itself or do I need to disconnect the battery for a while for the code to reset? I do have the master key code for the display console,
