I thought it was pretty cool.

Chrysler was seriously considering the production of that truck. I was working closely with the 4rd largest Dodge dealership in the country at that time and he was actually shipped example literature and posters for the truck. Interestingly enough, most all of his potential customers only wanted it if they could get it with the Cummins diesel engine option, which wasn't listed as an option. I thought it would have been great. Similar trucks have been produced and have performed well in other countries.

vs. a dually, It would have better load capacity, better wet weather traction, possibly better fuel efficiency (lots of +s and -s to add up)
better off road traction, and basicaly look cooler.

I'm thinking the added cost, weight, complexity. would outweight the posatives for me though.

THe US6x6 guys wernt the first to do this. Landrover did it as a military special. I also think there were some factory camper conversions done too. They're pretty rare and sell for quite alot. Even the axles sell for $12k if you can find them.
