TBN BRAIN TRUST needed. .HOW to stop storm drains clogging with leaves & branches?
Hi
I have a run off from springs along my driveway. They are bone dry for last couple months. When we get big thunderstorms, the rain & spring run down into 2 15 inch pipes. They are big enough until a few branches & leaves clog pipe. I can put new 24 inch pipes in place and should be good. PROBLM: Pipes cost $425 per 10 feet. I need 70 foot of pipes X 2. Total cost just for Pipes $6000. 2nd PROBLEM: can't shorten the pipe run because gas company must be able cross the water to tend to a small gas well. Gas Co says they need 70 foot in case they have to take a rig in to well for repairs. Since 2007 there was never a problem. All they need is enough room for 1000 gallon water truck. Gas well company not interested in helping. Just started talking to Gas Co, though. The original driller has gone bankrupt.
Any ideas on how I can catch rain water in storms without clogging? In bigger thunder storms when drains clog and flow down driveway sometime get a 1/4 mile of driveway washed out in an evening. What kind of hook up could can I make that would catch heavy water and protect drain from clogging & Keep branches, leaves etc. away from causing trouble. This summer is least amount of rain in years. But, I dread Spring because of rain & snow melt. I"M hoping there might be simple way to solve problem.
You all have nice evening and BE SAFE..........Coffeeman..
