As you Tc33D owners know, there is corrosion problems with the battery or was in 2003 but anyway, i just looked at mine thats been sitting for a couple of months and there is gobs of white stuff coming out from all over the size of baseball. I want to junk this battery all together and buy a new one. The question is, Can I get one at Napa that fits or do i have to get same size through NH or whats the deal and where can i get a good one for that size. Also is this going to keep happening if i super clean the terminals and tighten them good? I have to clean and fix it up every year and im done with it so i want to do it right. Not sure what original problem was?

As you know, this is a common problem on Class IIs, so there are a number of threads about it.

went to local auto stores looking for a odyssey or optima ......napa had nothing of the sort and carquest had what they thought was a an optima built carquest version of an optima. It was a yellow top gel battery valued at a whopping $140 on sale. Anyone know if this is the right kind or a good kind or way to expensive?

$140 is about right for a gel/Optima type battery.

If you want to use a regular battery, use the measurements in one of the threads I posted a link to and buy the appropriate battery at TSC.

I went with a dry cell.

These are the 3 options you have.

Whatever you do.. once you clean it all up.. put some vasolene or chassie grease ont he terminals and clamps afterwards... you will be surprised at how much it cuts down on t he corosion.. I've been doing this for years onmy antiques.. so as to cut down metal loss around the batteries..

If the corrossion is due to battery spewing out electrolyte, I's be concerned about why. Have you checked the charge voltage at the battery? I'd not be happy if I saw anything above 14.25V.

The redtop is for starting applications and the yellowtop is for deep cycle applications like a boat trolling motor. I bought my redtop at Sam's for less than $120. I'd sure check Sam's or Costco in your area if you have them and you are a member.

Depending on the alternator regulator specs.. it's possible to see 14.4 and 14.7 charge V in some applications.
