Tires TC40D R4 tire valve compatibility probs.

Two things I bought from Gemplers didn't fit when tried today on my R4 valves. One was a Quick Fill tractor tire attachment for tires filled w/ ballast. I removed the valve core and the tube of the Quick Fill was almost the same dia. as the valve. The second was a simple Air/Liquid tire pressure dial gauge by Haltec for standard and large bore, which I tried pushing onto the valve stem (w/ core in). It gave no pressure reading but drooled some Rimgard. No the tires aren't deflated. I've been using them for months. I looked at the tire inflator I use and it has a pin type valve depressor whereas the guage and the Quick Fill have a little bar inside. Could this be a problem?
