The "Gorilla" with a shovel

Re: The \"Gorilla\" with a shovel

Not to hijack the thread, but when I looked at the ToolCat, (VERY cool by the way...), I was reminded of something that Steiner came up with several years ago and still sells today.

It's a lot smaller, but the same concept! An articulating Utility Vehicle /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Steiner UtiliMax

And in action...

I think I would spend the additional 5k for the Bobcat though.

Re: The \"Gorilla\" with a shovel

Guys here is another pic of the plate. It might show the features a little better. The holes were already in the metal but shouldn't hurt a thing.

Re: The \"Gorilla\" with a shovel

Stray..thanks for the posts. It reminds me I gave some previous posts of this to a friend(they were yours I think) since he said he could fab a plate or 2 for me...well, that was last summer...hmmm, I wonder where they are?? LOL!

Re: The \"Gorilla\" with a shovel

Stray, Would you happen to know if the Quick-attach plates from all the PT's have the same measurements, but thicker steel for the larger units? My PT is a three point hook-up, and some day, I hope to convert every thing to the Quick-attach plates or something similar.

Re: The \"Gorilla\" with a shovel

Farmall140 You're more that welcome and I would say you're plates are in the planning stage. I have a lot of projects like that. LOL

And J. J. No I sure don't know about the dimensions of the larger plates. I just assumed that they would be larger as well as thicker. It would be interesting to know for sure though.

Re: The \"Gorilla\" with a shovel

Hi guys -

FYI I just spoke to Scott at PT, who was gracious enough to call me back twice. I explained the idea of this 'gardening, or grubbing bucket', and he seemed encouraging. He will check with the design staff and see if they are interested in building such a creature. Perhaps there is hope without needing to spend so much money for those of us who always seem to be digging up shrubs, trees, and bushes and replanting!

Seems like an ideal tool for their target market of landscapers.

Sincerely,

Rob /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: The \"Gorilla\" with a shovel

JJ,
The 180 plate I know is smaller (not as wide, can't remember height) than the 4xx series QA plate. I think the steel used is the same thinkness though.
