The SAWMILL that I built(Pic\'s)

It is nice to findfolks who enjoy the things I love...fabricating all kinds of machines - tools.I enjoy reading others who have been down the same path Here are some pics of my mill ....I built it out of what I could scrounge and an old mill from a neighbor.

I am planning on building a re-saw (bandsaw) and have learned a great deal after reading the archives...all suggestions and input welcome...will post pics.

It has a 56'' blade, here is thre power plant a BUDA DIESEL circca 1940's

Another from the offbeare ...looking to the saw
the carriage for moving log into the saw is to the left and behind the blade...
operators station is to the right and behind blade

Here's some cut lumber, to the right of the blade...I am standing on the steel I beams used to fabricate the tracks for the carriage to run on (60 ' long)

That's looks like the setup at the sawmill where I buy my lumber.
His is powered by an "M".

Pretty easy to come by ...every other old barn around here has one....you can buy new ones all day long for...round, $1600 to 2000

I like the old Buda engine it was designed many years ahead of its time with vortex technology...it runs more like a gas than a diesel...but only uses bout 5-7 gallons of fuel all day!
