Well, it's all moot now. No longer possible for me to do the way I was thinking.

They came through and paved yesterday. They added enough width and thickness and changed the edge profile so that I can't possibly drive along the edge. The end tines wouldn't be able to get deep enough before the tineless end would be dragging on the pavement and it's now too steep for me to drop one wheel off and be safe. With the 5' rake width, I don't have enough width outside the tires to get the end tines to the ditch now either.

Back to using the hand shovel and hoe to clean out the culvert the hard way.

Still think you should ask the town to step in. Sometimes they listen.

Ha! What are the odds. Your pavement looked just fine to me in the first pic.... They often re-pave the wrong roads around here too. Frustrating when your tax dollars go into a perfectly fine road while others pound your vehicles apart for years and years before a repair.

They may come back soon to re-do the shoulder and ditch.

I would suspect they might do that so the drop off is not as steep but one never knows.

Wouldn't that be a mega-neat 3 point (or maybe QA) type attachment? It would only have to reach out 3-4 feet beyond the tires and down a foot or two below ground. Give it a small capacity bucket/scooper so the load would be less. I could see a lot of buyers that would want to clear ditches or dig shallow trenches near buildings. Offer different bucket widths from 6 to 24" or so. Maybe a rake too. Rig a control box that could run it from the seat like an FEL or grapple. Drive and dig, drive and dig, drive and dig .... Maybe offer a fixed version that only goes to one side for a lesser price and one that can rotate 180 degrees for a higher price.

Don't forget my royalties though if this takes off.

You mean, something like this but with some sort of rake, instead of the bottom plow?

Maybe turn off the blockers you run on your browser that even block the videos?

Regardless how I share the link, it will turn into that mini player version on the forum.
