Thoughts on mounting a 2500b winch on BX?

Not common here either... I did see a BX snow blower that used existing brackets in front and tap into the PTO for power... maybe I can find a picture...

The front of a mower deck has a quick release type mounting hardware that uses it, as well as the Quick Hitch (which is used for plow, blower, broom.)

I think mounting underneath would be a nice option. I have also seen people mount them on the loader itself on the crossmember. This is not a bad way to go either if the winch is light duty. Benefit of that is it makes it easy to hold large things into the bucket as well. I know they're not the most practical for everything but sure seems handy to have. Especially for the price they charge at Harbor freight.

Yep, was down at my local Kubota dealer today and asked about that. I think I will rig something using those tie in points. Drove out of there with a brand new Z122 42in zero turn mower so now I know I won't be using that space for a MMM! Guess I need to add that to my avatar/profile :cool2:

I wanted a front winch over the rear-mounted one I have now. It wasn't going to happen. It will always be in the way of something, whether it be the loader operation, or just general ground clearance issues. If you're able to make something work, then test it with the loader down as far as possible (front wheels in the air). Also consider it being banged into rocks and submerged in water or mud while out front, so maybe a skid plate of some sort. Mine is on a custom bracket mounted to my carry-all. The winch power wires plug into a recepticle I added on the back near the tail lights. The wires run to the battery under the left side floor outside the frame, then in behind the front screen.

Hi Ron, I am still thinking/designing stage. I want the winch to be QA since there are clearance issues and cable line of sight issues as you probably can guess. Now I am looking at hooking into the brackets that hang just below and behind the brush guard. As G31 mentioned above the FEL and ground clearance is a real challenge. Thinking I will mount it only when I need it.

If your life is anything like mine, you'll find out that the only times you will need it will be the one when you didn't mount it, and then won't be able to get access to do so- sorry, but that kind of thing has a way happening to me regularly, so I often over-compensate.

For instance, I only just took the plow and tire chains off our farm truck this past weekend so I could use it to pick up some lumber before our new roof got put on the house, mostly because I knew that as soon as I did, we'd get a freak late snow storm out of the blue sky...

It's also why each of our vehicle has a tool/repair kit with fuses, trouble lights, work gloves and whatever other kinds of spares I can fit.

I'm sure you won't have that kind of problem though...
