I don't make many posts, since the GC 2610 has been basically bulletproof, but recently both tie rod end boots have torn, or worn out. The dealer does not sell just the boots, he sells the entire tie rod end, and the price is quite high.

Has anyone found boots that will fit the GC 2400/2600 series and where do we find them?

I do live in Calgary, Canada, but could likely purchase them from the USA if necessary.

Regards

Jim

I found this site https://www.suspension.com/universal-dust-boots.asp ... I was going to order from them, but I had more pressing things to do, then my nut that holds the tie rod on fell off, and ruined itself, I decided to just buy new tires rod ends for both sides ...

I was getting by with a few shots of grease in them when they were tore up, but after this "field repair" I decided to just replace everything!

I believe there's some universal ball joint boot kits you can mail order inexpensively if you want to just re-boot them.

trust me when I say full tie rod assemblies are a lot cheaper than 2 tie rod assemblies AND a steering cylinder.
while there make sure your hub rotate limit bolts are snug and not ready to fall out. that can cause a ton of cylinder damage.
ask me how I know.

edit: I did replace both ends due to finding crud incursion and since replacing cylinder at same time...meh. the threads can strip very easy, only a 10mm thread so keep in mind if reusing old ones.

Gentlemen

I thank you all for your input. After looking at the pictures, I realized I incorrectly called these tie rod ends. My mistake, they are actually the boots at the ends of the hydraulic steering cylinder. Probably the reason the dealer said they only came with the tie rod ends.

I actually found them online at a fairly local Massey Dealer, and although the price is exorbitant, they will definitely fit. I believe I will cut up a bicycle tube to wrap around the new boots to prevent them from getting too much UV exposure from the sun.

Once again, thank you for your input. This forum is great.

yeah cyl end does have replaceable boot. you will have to hold piston of cyl with a skinny (very skinny) 19mm against the wrench flat that is on one side of piston to keep from spinning when doing this. iirc its left side as mounted. only one end of piston has the wrench flat.
