Tip for hooking up PTO shaft. Drop a dime.

The biggest pain I've had connecting a pto wasn't with a sliding pin but with a sliding ring. I was kind of glad when mine broke and I replaced it with a pin type.

I have one PTO shaft with a sliding ring. A little awkward pulling the ring BACK while you push the PTO coupler FORWARD. But it works. One of my pin types has a mushroom head on it, that makes the most sense.

The sliding ring type is the one I put a lighter spring into. Not sorry I did that.

I was just thinking that a guy could weld a washer onto the head of a pin type to make them easier to push. I just carry a small hammer in my tool box.

I don't wear gloves so would I have to Superglue it to the end of my finger ???

Rather than super glue a dime, consider an older penny - mostly copper - copper is supposed to help with arthritis. I mean since you are going to be stuck with it you might as well gain some additional benefit!!

Actually we don't have dimes in this country. We did have pennies but they were rather large. I solved the problem by never taking the PTO shaft off.

I'm too cheap to use a whole dime, so I'll just use a penny. :D:laughing:

I don't think we really need a "like" button at all.

This site is great for passing information concerning tractors and implements. Lets not turn it into another dumb "social media" site and popularity contests.

I'd take one of those 5 second energy drinks, but they cost more than a dime....and the surge would be gone by the time I pulled back....pushed forward and dropped a deuce...
