Ballast Tire Filling on a CT225

My CT225 has come in and is being prepped. I originally ordered it with R1's as I am not a big fan of R4's but I have decided to take the R4's that came on it. I asked them to fill them and I was told that Bobcat does not fill tires. The salesman suggested I take it to a COOP. Just curious as to what other Bobcat dealers are doing.

I have a tire filler attachment for the water hose but I am not sure how much methanol I would need to add verses how much water do these R4's hold? Plus, how do you get the methanol into the tire?

My bobcat dealer filled my tires... I did check and they are filled. I also have a ct225. Bobcat of Tampa.

I am going to speak with the service manager and see what he can do. I cannot imagine a heavy equipment dealer not being able to fill tires.

Some people just break the bead and pour in windshield washer fluid. It is good to about 25 below 0. It cost about $1.25 a gal or about 15 cents a pound so $50 would go a long way.

I would say most of the tractor dealers do not fill the tires. It is much more cost effective to take them to a tire shop and let them deal with it. Especially in the Bobcat construction equipment world where they fill them with foam rather than liquid.

Most dealers make arrangements with a local shop and get them done for you before you take delivery.

Went by Wally world today and they don't have much -20 washer fluid. Everything right now is +32 for a $1. They can get the -20F stuff but want a $1.64 a gallon. That would be about $108 out the door for 60 gallons. Of course I could wait for the fall sales but I don't want too. I tried checking on sources for methanol but so far only found it in 55 gallon drums. Frustrating. I will keep looking but I went head and had Walmart order the -20f stuff. They said I didn't have to take it is I found something else. But it is a week out right now.
