Here's a sob story froma friend of mine. Has a big old gas 65hp 2wd farm tractor and got a flat in the rear wheel (tube tires). Otherwise good rubber. Cost $130 to repair. We go to an auction the following week and he gets some great deals on brand new equipment. ($300 6ft box blade, $325 on double set of discs and I think about $200 for a 6ft york rake). Gets home and hooks up the box blade to see how it works, goes up an incline and the boxblade swings, scarifier catches the tire, scarifier wins. Tire lug ripped right off. (The one he jjust fixed of course!) Other than shooting his good luck at the auction in the a**, does anyone have any input on having the tire repaired? He's gotten mixed answers. Some say the lug and tire can be fixed, kind of like welding rubber (vulcanizing kit??). I know gemplers has a lot of tire repair supplies but didn't know if anyone ever ran into this type of repair before.
