I think the thing about Position control is it is like the song--Don't know what you got till it is gone---or something like that. If you never had it you will not miss it but once you had it you are going to want it. Like I said in my response to this question under the other thread, with the 7500 you can buy some implements and get to work for the difference. I do want to correct something before people get upset with me. When I said I wanted a solid increase in performance over the BX so I got the 2410 I did not mean that the 7500 was not also an increase in performance. I should have said I wanted the most tractor power possible on the smaller (smallest) frames without moving up to a 2710/2910/JD4200/TC25/L series etc bla bla which are all bigger, heavier, longer tractors. What am I comparing the 2410 to--the
B7500, various BX models, TC18 and 21 and JD 4010, 4110 and of course the JD4100, all of which weigh in the sub 1500 lbs class (give or take a few lbs). Each an excellent machine, just in my (biased) opinion the 2410 is the most tractor you can get in this size class of tractor. The new JD4115 is probably a competitor for the Kubota 2710/2910 and not the 2410. So that is a new size tractor for JD because until this year they had a big jump (weight wise) from the little 4100 all the way up to the 4200 and nothing in between.
I really think tractors should be catagorized/compared not just by horsepower as is our tendency but by first weight, then wheelbase and then horsepower and then features. For example the JD 4200 should probably compare to the Kubota
L3010 since both weigh about 2700 lbs and not to the
B2910 which weighs only 1800lbs. Consider that the 4200 has but 27 horses, the Kubota L about 30 and the 2910 also about 30. I am pretty darn sure the JD4200 could easily out muscle the 2910 (the
L3010 might be more challenging)----not meaning good or bad /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif --my only point being that hosepower alone is not a good way to catagorize a tractor. I mean, afterall, can a Sears 25 horse GT pull my 2410 backwards--Hades no!!!!!! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif
I hope this does not create a flame war /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif as I am just talking about tractors, not condemeing all but the 2410. By the way, I really like the TC21 and the much larger TC25. The TC25 is to big for my needs but I really like it's looks and the TC21 sure seems like a nice rig too.
