My NAA has a pretty nasty habit of marking it's territory all over the place. I set about trying to minimize that. First, just completed, I re-plumbed a bunch of the loader plumbing from the tank to the pump. I also replaced the leaking seal in the pump that is found here:http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/hydraulics/316799-exploded-diagram-vicker-pump-off-2.html

Last night I buttoned it up. The loader works as well as ever and now the front of the tractor is dry. It also seems that a lot of the "leaking" was from the hydro fluid leaking from the loader blowing back and covering the underside of the tractor. I cleaned it up really well and parked it over a fresh piece of cardboard. This am I find a few more issues.

Both cylinders of the power steering leak. I pretty much expected that. I think the fix will be new seals. One is going to need a new rod due to corrosion on it.

The oil pan drain leaks. Fix that on next oil change.

More concerning are the following. The loader tank is make up of the frame of the loader. I have fluid leaking from one of the welds and a nearby crack. I'm not sure I'm up to the technical ability to grind this and re-weld it. I only have a miller thunderbolt stick welder, and I'm still developing proficiency. It would be an overhead weld as well. Anyone have any experience with a sealant I could put on it? Other thoughts? Here is a picture. 20140717_131716.jpg

The other leak is kind of odd. It was leaking water from the flange between the rear and center sections of the tractor. This am it was nearly pure water. By this afternoon it is cloudy, like it is a mixture of water and utf. Is this supposed to have a gasket between the sections? There seems to be some white sealant on there. Outside of splitting the sections (which I don't have the time or inclination to do at the moment) any thoughts on sealing this. Here are picts. 20140717_131626.jpg20140717_131405.jpg20140717_131608.jpg

Thanks

there are gaskets between the trans and center section.. yours looks pretty gunked up. prev owner may have tried some sort of caulk ??

loader sumps are non pressurized. drain it and spray clean as a whistle with carb cleaner.

at that point i'd leave cap off and braze or weld..

if you can't do that.. then try jbweld.. it's one of the few places i MIGHT try it..

Yep a bit of white calk looking stuff. I cleaned it with a wire brush then with carb cleaner. Then put on some permatex black rtv. All this after draining some really watery fluid. Hopefully that'll hold till winter.

The diff looked to be way over full. I pulled out almost 30 quarts and it still came pouring out of the check plug. Its all good now.

Other stuff will have to wait...i got the "too much time working on tractor" lecture today. :/

someone may have thought it was an 8n and dumped 5g into the rear sump?

Guess so. Now it's just up to the plug on the left side.

Check your freeze plugs fist before you start anything

No coolant leaking mostly hydraulic fluid....freeze plugs look good.
