the lodge was hoping to increase the award to $1,500 this year. Having lost one of their ticket-selling outlets, however, might put that plan in jeopardy.
Probably not, though. As is usually the case, real people will step to the front and make up the difference. At the end of the day TSC, like others before them, are simply big monoliths which only "do the right thing" because it makes them look good.

The only thing that I buy there is dog food, as it's the only thing I need which they don't priced at 20% over what I can get it for elsewhere.

I call TSC Tough Sh*t Charlies, where everything is scratched, dented or broken and if you like to wait in line forever, it's the place to go. I only go there as a last resort. Heck, I'd rather to business with Harbor Freight.

Don't ever get a TSC credit card either. The finance rate on unpaid balances is 28%.

Tractor Supply does not solicit business from us rednecks. They are way above the competition around here. We veterans don't shop there as they refuse the discount as all there competition offer.

It seems like they are catering to the same clientele as Dick's... another store which I avoid because of high prices and not much that I'm interested in.

I rarely go there any more...very disappointed with their merchandise quality and lack of customer service. Much better over at the locally owned Ace Hardware.

My local Tractor Supply needs to change its name to “Pet Supply”. I don’t think I’ve ever found a tractor part, even commonly used ones, that I need. Over the last decade, their inventory gets less and less tractor related. That’s why I buy most tractor stuff online.

I have mixed feelings on "gun control" ... while I'm all for comprehensive background checks... there is a old saying that you don't want to let the camel get his nose in the tent. .. once he does, the rest of him is going to follow. It's the same with the Dems and anti gun crowd. .. And I believe a unarmed population is the governments wet dream

Me to, you have to really look at what you are buying there, lots of damaged stuff including holes in dog food bags..

I am neither a pro or anti gun fanatic, but I can read the writing on the wall, and it's plain that the public's view of gun ownership is changing, whether you like it or not. I don't buy the camel-in-the-tent analogy one bit. If the gun lobby, NRA, etc. don't get their heads out of the sand and work with the government to come up with a fair solution to all the gun violence we've been experiencing, it will be imposed from the top down, and won't be pretty.

We've only had a TS here for ~10 years, so I don't know what they used to carry, but I agree they seem to be becoming more and more of a pet store with some hardware thrown in. 2 aisles of dog toys, biscuits and similar crap? Really?

That having been said, I've found tools, power equipment parts, etc. there that no one else in the area seemed to carry. Prices seem to be comparable with HD, Lowes, etc. on the items they carry in common. Not sure what "commonly used" tractor parts you're referring to. Dealer items?
