I leave all sugar maples, straight oak, straight birch, and some ash.

Same here, it may differ at lower latitudes but where we both stand sugar maple trumps everything else.

Black cherry, red oak , hickory and yellow birch come next.

I heat almost exclusively with red maple, ash and beech.....no complaints.

Started filling the firewood bags again for the next winter. We burned through about 8 of these bags plus a ton of compressed sawdust bricks this past heating season.

That was cool!

Some people need their firewood way more than I do! that looks like a lot of hassle for a few logs. Of course it would be kind of relaxing.

Some folks just like doing stuff like that, and I'm one of them!

Neat video...

1/3 cord: Firewood Bags | Tyoga Container

Full weight could be 1200 to 1900lbs. Use this link and punch in .333 cords and the type of firewood you are filling the bag with:
Log Cord Weight Calculator

They don't sell the bags individually at that link (just a note to email for a quote on a pallet at a time). I got curious and did some searching around. Here's a place to order sacks individually:

Ventilated 150 Super Sack® Container

We use thousands of these sacks in our powder manufacturing plant, although they are not ventilated. I'm going to have to see if there is a discard pile...

Hmm... my last order of bags (8) was from Tyoga Container directly, but there was a several month wait. I have also ordered the bags (another 8) from oescoinc.com. I'm hoping they are just a popular item and will start showing up again on storefronts when supply catches up with demand.

Last November we dropped the firewood down a chute into the basement from one bag to another. In the basement I move the bags with a pallet jack. We didn't have to venture outside this past winter for one stick of firewood! :D
