Some red pine I skidded out with my L3901 a while back with a friend. The large pile was all pulp wood and the smaller pile further down was all smaller saw logs. All together it ended up being three loads.

That was a lot of work. At least there weren't limbs to the ground. You must have sent the pulp to Jay?

I’m honestly not sure where all the wood went. It’s was my friends job site. I was just there to skid, sort and stack the logs with my machine.

Most definitely could have used a winch or even a proper skidding hitch but this isn’t a full time job so it’s hard to justify it. I was able to safety back up to all but a few logs and chain them to my quick hitch to skid them out. The logs I couldn’t reach we pulled out with multiple lengths of chain. The few sketchy spots I had to go in I loaded the grapple with logs for added front ballast weight. All in all it was a fun experience and really proved what the L3901 was capable of. It was able to skid two 60ft pines up hill and out of that gully at a time. Some were 16 inch diameter at the stump.

Some more pics of when we started and through the process. It was a about half an acre of red pine on a hill that my friend took down.

Looks like you guys did a real good job !! A little slower w/o a winch but all the stumps are low and you set it up right with good access for the equipment you had. Your cutter did a great job keeping the lie in one direction from what I can see in the first group of pics. Couldn't see the second bunch for some reason? Nice work !!!
